Game of Thrones has been one of the most popular TV Shows on HBO for a long time, and no matter who sits on the Iron Throne, “Game of Thrones” continues to dominate when it comes down to ratings.
Game of Thrones Season 7
The final episode of season 6 have watched over 8.9 people, and its current rating on IMDB is 9.9 rating.
So we can all agree that season 6 was a real pleasure to watch, but can we expect the same from season 7?!
When will Game of Thrones season 7 air?
Typically, every season of Game of Thrones premieres in April of each year, but upcoming season is special, thanks to one simple fact: Winter is here! “We are starting a bit later because at the end of this season, Winter is here, and that means that sunny weather does not really serve our purposes anymore.” Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirmed. So basically, shooting locations like Dubrovnik, Croatia will need more clouds and cold weather, in order to really show Westeros Winter. According to IMDB, the fantasy series is coming back on Sunday, 25.June 2017.
Season seven will be much shorter!
Jack Bender, who directed the two last episodes from season 6, revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that there will only be seven episodes in the upcoming season. Here it is what he had to say when asked if he was coming back next season.
“I don’t know the answer on that. They are only doing seven, and they got their regulars who have done it forever. I know that I had a wonderful experience doing the show and I know that Dan and David are thrilled with the shows, and I have got this series I am mounting for the beginning of 2017 based on Stephen King’s trilogy of books, starting with Mr. Mercedes. I have not been asked yet and I also don’t know what their schedule is going to be. But under the best circumstances, schedule and everything, I had a great experience doing the show. If available and they wanted me, I would love to do that.”
But, here is some good news for Game of Thrones fans, Benioff and Weiss confirmed that episodes for season seven will last a little bit longer.
Who is coming back?
There are many differences between George R.R. Martins novels and HBO’s Game of Thrones TV series. But one that really stands out involves the character of Lady Stoneheart. In the books, Catelyn Stark is brought back from the dead by Beric Dondarrion, and Catelyn goes on a revenge tour of Westeros. She kills anyone associated with the Lannisters, Boltons, and Freys. Director Mark Mylod intrigued our minds in his recent interview, “I can honestly say, hand over heart, that I have not had one discussion about Lady Stoneheart.” That certainly does not rule her out, but for now, it looks like Arya will lead vengeful hand of Starks.
